Dear CCI Friends,
What more can we do to awaken 330,000,000 Americans to the horrors of Nuclear War?
Our leading scientists say that WE … yes WE, the American people, are closer to nuclear war today than ever before. Closer than the Cuban missile crisis? Yes, say the scientists. Closer than when a Soviet scientist in 1983 refused to fire nuclear weapons at the US when Moscow alarms were screaming “Fire!”? Yes, in addition to these frightening scenarios, nuclear weapons today are far faster and more destructive than in the 60s and the 80s.
Are we so immersed in our comfortable lives that we refuse to hear or see the signals all around us? It seems so!
Only one 2020 presidential candidate confronts this dire situation and she is being reviled for it … while other candidates are focusing on far less critical issues — including berating Trump and each other’s concerns.
We are asleep at the wheel and could be reduced to dust … never knowing what happened to us.
Will this be the fate of the earth and we earthlings?
YES, if we don’t wake up and push diplomacy instead of conflict with nuclearized nations!

7 things the US government says you should never do after a nuclear explosion, from using conditioner to hiding in your car

A mysterious explosion that killed at least seven people at a Russian military site has reignited concerns about the threat of nuclear warfare.
US officials believe the explosion could be the result of a failed test of a nuclear missile Russia is developing called “Skyfall.”
Shortly after the explosion, authorities in the city of Severodvinsk reported a brief spike in the area’s radiation levels. Residents of a nearby town were also told to evacuate, but the orders were soon cancelled.
Less than two weeks later, the US performed its own test launch of a cruise missile off the coast of California. Russia and the US recently dissolved their Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, which prohibited both nations from possessing, producing, or testing thousands of land-based missiles.
