CCI Friends,
When our bright younger citizens, our Millennials, believe there will be a Nuclear War this decade, how should we respond?
We have a responsibility here. What can we do to change it? How about we ourselves fundraise for the brightest, most eloquent and best of our Millennials to become Citizen Diplomats to work on offsetting Nuclear War this year and in 2021? Perhaps we take them in groups of 20 to Russia, the UN and Washington, DC, something big enough to get the attention of mainstream media. Let’s encourage this generation to speak with and for the International Committee of the Red Cross and write articles for the New York Times and other mainstream media … and bombard them with insistance that they print these articles.

A majority of millennials around the world believe it’s more likely than not that a nuclear attack will happen sometime in the next 10 years — a sign that younger adults’ views on global affairs is exceedingly bleak.
The International Committee of the Red Cross, a worldwide humanitarian organization, surveyed 16,000 millennials — adults between the ages of 20 and 35 — in 16 countries and territories last year: Afghanistan, Colombia, France, Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Palestinian Territories, Russia, South Africa, Syria, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, and the United States.
Half of those nations are experiencing conflict right now, while the other half are fortunately in peace. Based on the results released last week, this demographic is worried about what the future holds.
“More than half of millennials — 54 percent — believe it is likely that a nuclear attack will occur in the next decade,” reads the report.
