Dear CCI Friends,
Please watch The Commemorative Remembrance of Hiroshima & Nagasaki.
Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTigpUvzB78&feature=youtu.be.
Yesterday, August 6th, was the 75th Anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima.Nagasaki was bombed on August 9th. This video was released across the world yesterday.
The film is exceptionally beautiful … haunting I should say. I found myself transfixed by it; literally I was unable to move. I walked into my kitchen for water … planning to take my laptop to the sofa. The video began. I stood mesmerized in my kitchen without changing position until it was finished.
From the voices of Mikhail Gorbachev to George Schultz and many others, it quietly articulated its unbelievably powerful message. Images of loveliness and uplifting music intertwined the lofty yet serious ideas being presented.
This Remembrance felt like a worldwide meditation on life and the survival of humanity.
What an affirmation of the importance of life and living during our COVID-saturated era!
Let’s think together of ways to disseminate this video to tens of thousands of people. It’s a message that we Americans need to take in and own. This devastation was caused by our decision makers and our bombs.
With nuclear missiles now in our submarines and bomber planes all over the world, we somehow don’t consider these weapons a threat to our lives. At the same time, our nuclear scientists are sounding High Alerts, saying planet earth is “100 seconds” to Midnight on their Dooms Day Clock. Here we are now, perhaps seconds away from planetary devastation … and few take notice.
Are we tone deaf? Do we not register or care that we can destroy the earth with the nuclear missiles now held by ourselves and Russia?
Take in this beautiful Remembrance! I believe you will want to pass it on to others and find ways to speak to this issue yourselves.
More in the days to come,

PS: It occurs to me that I have not heard a word about this deadly issue from any of our U.S. candidates running for the 2020 presidential election. Have you???
What does this say to us?
