Some of you began flooding me last week with a Daily Beast article (a publication I’ve never read). Apparently, the Beast identified three of us who purportedly gave contributions to Tulsi Gabbard for the 2020 election. Out of all of the millions who are interested in and may have contributed to this candidate, how could the Beast have come up with my name?

Then on May 22nd, Matt Taibbi, formerly an anti-Putin,”anti-Russia” writer in Moscow, came out in The Rolling Stone (another edgy outlet I’ve never followed), still with only three of us identified. Mentioning Professor Stephen Cohen is sensible, since he’s spoken truth about Russia for years and has met with Gabbard. But they must have searched hard to have chosen the other two of us. Undoubtedly, we’ve reached an all-time low in American journalism.

Today we sit at the juncture of another Nuclear War crisis — this time few Americans are even discussing it amongst themselves. Life is going on as though our lives and our planet are blessed with some sort of perpetuity.

Dear CCI Readers,

We need more realists, particularly those in positions of name recognition. We need them to pledge to promote “realism” among and for us all, particularly when a Nuclear War hangs in the balance. Too often, Democrats and Republicans alike, support politics-as-usual and even worse, write dissing commentary for those who promote realism.

In April of 2018 I met with Paul J. Saunders, the publisher of The National Interest. He had just printed an article on the need for “People Diplomacy,” given that official diplomacy was/is non-existent. He was the first of his level to venture forth with this idea in print. Having built the largest peoples’ diplomacy program in the U.S., I shared with him CCI methodologies that could still work at this late date. I found Saunders to be a deeply concerned Republican struggling to deal with the reality in which we all find ourselves. He was and is brave enough to reveal his concerns, search for answers and pledge to foster realism in the The National Interest despite the repetitious noise of both parties.

Dear CCI Friends,

America’s VIP elders, those most closely involved with nuclear weapons in the past, are speaking out with great concern and great clarity today. Read below. Will the current U.S. government and Congress listen … or will they continue with their reckless manner of avoiding the truth and putting us all in jeopardy? This is the question.

Secondly, Americans are for the most part unaware of how close we are to being exterminated by the nuclear weapons that now exist in Russian and American arsenals. We Americans have felt safe for so long, we feel so exceptional, that no one can attack us, and if they did, we could obliterate them. Today we have no treaties and no diplomacy between the United States and Russia to prevent another nuclear missile crisis. Only an uprising from below will change this situation.

How to wake America up? It won’t be easy. I’ll pose some questions at the end of this article that any of us can ask of our friends and family members to open up the discussion. Fortunately, we have a candidate running for the 2020 presidency who is addressing these issues head-on in YouTubes. We can expect she will do so during the presidential debates. This may finally wake up our people.

US Cold Warriors escalate toward actual war with Russia.

Heedless of the consequences, or perhaps welcoming them, America’s Cold Warriors and their media platforms have recently escalated their rhetoric against Russia, especially in March.
