U.S. & Russia Near Deal to Freeze Warheads for a Year!

October 20, 2020

Dear CCI Followers,

Trump has tried to reduce nuclear tensions between the United States and Russia in the past. Decisions made in the Deep State kept them from materializing. Will the same thing happen again? It’s hard to believe he will get away with this, given how determined the Democrats are to keep Trump from making such changes and from being re-elected.

A Dangerous Time to be Alive!

October 14, 2020

Dear CCI Friends,

After a long vacation, I am back at my desk and computer. I have greatly appreciated your personal notes and articles regarding Cold War III.

We have entered into a blizzard of insults, incriminations, threats and lies during this pre-election run-off culminating next month.  In my 84 years, I have never experienced such a display of hysteria and misinformation across both parties. Having been a Democrat all of my life, I can’t vote for either party, so I chose to write in the candidate I feel most qualified for the office.

Friends, this is an extremely dangerous time to be alive, and most Americans are not even aware of the possibility of Nuclear War. Nuclear weapons are in bombers and submarines throughout the world’s air and oceans. Why are our U.S. bombers flying war-training missions over Russia’s borders? How would we feel if Russians were doing the same over San Francisco and New York City? Why do Pentagon and other high-level officials risk accidents which could result in an all-out Nuclear War?

Now, comes this article below where Hillary Clinton presents the strange admission that our military policy is wrongly directed … after she pushed Cold War tactics against Russia for decades. Who can explain this? Pandemonium reigns!

Please forward this article to as many friends and colleagues as possible.

Cohen: The Man Who Knew Russia …

October 12, 2020

Dear Friends,

Yet another VIP speaks out regarding Professor Steve Cohen’s preeminence in the field of Russian history and U.S.-Russia relations. Bill Bradley, a friend of Cohen’s for years, was a U.S. Senator in addition to being a Presidential Candidate in 2000.

It’s clear from the long list of eulogies that America’s expert voice regarding U.S.-Russia relations will be acutely missed in the months and years ahead.

Caitlin Johnstone on Stephen Cohen

September 22, 2020

Dear CCI Followers,

Caitlin Johnstone is fast becoming the straight-forward, fearless spokesperson regarding the latest Cold War with Russia. She is abrupt and scathing with those to the left and right in the political spectrum.

Persons of her audacity have the power to wake others up! Please pass this article to your friends and ask for their reactions.

I’m taking the next week off, will return in early October. More to follow later!

Stephen Cohen: What a Loss!

September 20, 2020

Dear Friends,

We are all reeling today from the shock that Steve Cohen is no longer with us.

What an incalculable loss to the U.S.-Russia field of expertise at a time when we most need Steve’s sane, seasoned voice coming to us from decades of his distilled wisdom.

Upon hearing of Steve’s passing, I instinctively went to my shelves and pulled down the book, “Stephen Cohen, the Soviet Union and Russia”, the front cover of which shows Steve and Katerina, decades younger, standing with the Kremlin wall in the background. This is a book of tributes and comments by Steve’s Russian colleagues. It is very telling that he was/is so honored by Russians and Americans alike.

No one can fill Steve’s shoes, but all of us can redouble our efforts to get back to Russia today, to do the type of sleuth work between cultures for which Steve was known. We can take up his mission to insist that Americans forego propaganda and become aware of the great need to be better informed on relations between our two countries before it is too late.

Nothing would be more fitting to Steve’s memory than if his passing could stimulate a new wave of Americans seriously exploring rapprochement between our two nations.

Let us ponder in this direction and plan accordingly,
